The Moose quilt backgrounds are stitched in raw edge applique technique (straight stitch with a darning foot), and all the moose are satin stitched.The flowers are free style machine embroidery (instructions included ;-), and some are hand embroidered with feather stitch and French knots, and those black trees are couched with eyelash yarn. The quilt in the photo is 34" wide and 27" high.

Look what you can do with a darning foot and a little imagination. Check out your sewing machine to see if there are some stitches you could use for flowers. You can also mix in hand embroidery stitching too. Click on the photo to see it larger.	This detail photo shows the free style embroidered flowers. They are so easy to do!	There are some hand embroidered feather stitches used for the stems and leaves. Use variegated threads and pearl cotton.
The Queen Anne's Lace is made making by stitching circles with the darning foot.	The blue flowers are star stitches, a feature on my sewing machine.	The tree has eyelash yarn couched on it so it looks like a real tree with tons of branches, but without all the work.
This is a doodle in stitches on fabric with batting behind. I hooped it for the sewing machine (reverse of hand embroidery hooping) and used my darning foot and open toed foot to draw the details. Flowers aren't scary to draw. I am sure you could come up with some different ones by really looking at them in catalogs or outside.
